My name is Persephone Fitzpatrick. Dark Veil Tarot is my professional spiritual services business which I founded and have then run for 15 years (& counting!) from a rural location in central Scotland.

I started reading tarot over 30 years ago. I've been professionally reading tarot cards for my querents (clients) in person for 15 years at events, markets, festivals and also via face to face meetings for my very lovely, private clients.

I am currently in the process of moving my physical business and in person services to an online only platform. This means I am starting my social media presences, creating content and finding new clients online, all from scratch. Although this is somewhat of a daunting task and a very steep learning curve, it is nothing more than another challenge I must meet upon the Dark Veil Tarot business journey.

Payments & Security

I, Dark Veil Tarot, only take payments and bookings through my website www.darkveiltarot.com or in person with an electronic card reader. Every payment received goes straight into a business account and every business transaction is declared with HMRC.

Website payments, online checkouts and the tip jar are powered by Stripe Pay

Stripe accepts and securely processes payments through all major credit cards, apple pay, google pay etc. Click on the Stripe logo to go to the Stripe website via pop up window.

Duty of Care & Ethics

As a professional spiritual services provider, I run the Dark Veil Tarot business by strictly adhering to professional standards and following a professional and personal moral code of ethics and conduct (yes, I'm allowed to swear as much as I like, it's MY business, I'm my boss. If you don't like it then please, jog on. Swearing is not the professional standards or code of conduct being discussed here).

As part of every service and appointment delivered through Dark Veil Tarot, I am responsible for ensuring a duty of care towards and safeguarding the mental and emotional wellbeing of my clients, first and foremost.

If I feel that a client is mentally or emotionally unfit to receive an entertainment reading or guidance service, they will be refused the service. An option will be provided for the client to engage in a confidential conversation where they can discuss their situation or issue and they'll be supplied with information regarding any relevant professional services or charities available for their specific situation or needs along with mental health resources and services available via the NHS and by private mental health service providers. All clients who are unfit to receive their appointment on their booking day will be welcomed back at a future date for a new appointment, once they are well enough to do so.

What We Do

Dark Veil Tarot readings are not about fortune telling or seeing into the past, present or future through paranormal means. The readings are opportunities to engage in dynamic and brutally honest self reflective conversations guided by the cards pulled during a session. The cards are very frequently, highly relevant for encouraging needed introspection within the client. This provides the client & I with alternative perspectives which are often revealed in aid of discovering possible outcomes or solutions which are practical, plausible and reality based.

I am not in the business of lying to my clients, taking advantage of vulnerable people or fooling anyone. I genuinely care about those I read for and work with. By providing Dark Veil Tarot readings & services, my aim is to help my clients, not to feed into any delusions or provide false hopes or promises of invented futures in return for their money.

Clients

When choosing to work with clients, I prefer to work with those who are in a financial position to comfortably afford my rates and only those who are completely happy with paying my full fees in advance. I am not comfortable or happy working with anyone who would begrudge or might struggle to meet the set fees.

All bookings must be paid in advance and are non refundable within 48h of a booking.

For those in the latter camp, I do offer alternative options such as free yes/no readings for entertainment purposes on internet live streams and also a free supportive discord community (18+ only) along with cognitive behavioural therapy based self help resources, for anyone who feels they might benefit from these. Please see Discord community below.

I reserve the right to refuse to work with anyone without providing a reason or refund. This will usually only happen with anyone who is disrespectful, dismissive or rude. I expect my clients to attend our appointments with an open mind and attitude and a polite and pleasant demeanour.

Returning clients who aren’t putting in the appropriate work outwith their bookings, may not be granted further appointments. I don't want to waste their money or my time.

About the Business & Services

I, Eph the reader at Dark Veil Tarot, am a bona fide professional Tarot Reader and Spiritual Service Provider. I am not a witch, psychic or a medium.

I'm not an amateur or casual TikTok tarot reader who takes PayPal payments or bank transfers "off the books".

Likewise, I'm not a TikTokker or influencer or anything of that sort either.

I'm not dissing or judging anyone who does these things, I'm simply explaining that this is not where I or the Dark Veil Tarot business is coming from. I run the social medias and create the content as part of my business to promote my online spiritual services & business - Dark Veil Tarot.com

I'm simply a well read and experienced, professional tarot card reader and spiritual services provider, nothing less, nothing more.

Legal and Personal Statements

Dark Veil Tarot readings and services are not a replacement for professional mental health advice or services.

I possess exactly, zero, magical powers. I might have some "magical" friends who aid with my readings... are these friends even real? I really can't say, to be perfectly honest. I will state that I honestly & wholeheartedly 100% believe they are real.

I've been assessed and I'm not mentally ill, I don't have a personality disorder, I am diagnosed with a neurodivergence / developmental disorder, as in I'm rubbish at catching a ball or not falling over, but nothing which would cause, in psychiatric terms - magical thinking, or for me to believe I'm receiving the messages or signs that I do. I don't even smoke or drink, it’s nothing like that either.

I have a personal spiritual practice informed through decades of research in quality, peer reviewed or researched historical and occult literature.

Weird things happen around me which other people witness also. I don't believe in ghosts, demons or any of the things presented in media through films, books & lore of ye aulden days.. Well maybe some folklore I do believe but I'm not a believer in all the modern paranormal paraphernalia like ghost hunters, the conjuring, paranormal activity, Midsomer Etc. Etc.

What I will state is this; I'm legally obliged to state that my services are provided for entertainment purposes. So I'll stick to that, since it's my legal obligation to do so. You can decide for yourself if “spirit” is real, if I'm making it all up or if I'm just balls to the wall off my fucking rocker. What you believe, is none of my damn business anyway.

Discord, Resources and Community Spaces

The online community and resources are not a replacement for professional mental health advice or services.

These online services take a lot of time, skill and energy to construct and run, I provide all of this myself, for free. It is my honour and pleasure to be able to do so. The lack of readily available and accessible information and support regarding mental health services and basic self help techniques available to those silently and acutely suffering is appalling.

It is my goal that the discord spaces can provide even just a tiny bit of help or encouragement for anyone who needs it. I also have some absolutely wonderful professional moderators and legally vetted administrators who provide their time, without compensation to monitor and keep the community a safe and welcoming space. It's an anonymous, judgement free community. Inclusive and welcome to all (over 18).

I'm not just a tarot reader, I have a number of small businesses. I'm completely self employed, I work very long hours every day and I work extremely hard too. Anyone who's worked with me can attest to these bold claims of being an extremely hard working lady. I've not had a holiday for over a decade and I still work on any days off I have.

Do not be fooled by the 'glamorous' facade; I am a hardcore grafter, I'm a physical labourer (by choice) even though I struggle with physical disabilities. I don't claim benefits either, I work my fucking ass off purely because I want to. I enjoy it and it keeps me fit. I am not the person I appear to be on first (second, third, fourth...) impressions. I'm small & kind but I'm hard as fuck & I'll put you in the fucking ground if u give me a reason, m8. Anyhoo.. back to the shpeil..

Dark Veil Tarot is my business which I have built and continued to run for over a decade, all by my self, with nothing but my own blood, sweat and tears right from the ground up. I have only recently chosen to move to an online business model due to facing personal physical barriers in regards to managing the logistics of running the physical business.

This includes lots of travelling, setting up & taking down a massive steel & canvas tent, installing professional lighting & full theatrical set with far too many delicate & precious props (all designed made & built by me, an ex stage & lighting tech & audio engineer). Getting into costume & makeup in a cold dark tent then running a petrol generator & wood burning stove whilst wearing ridiculously beautiful but flammable dresses, massive fake nails, long dark veil & a wig which all seem to get tangled up in each other anytime I even think about moving an inch.

I'm no longer physically capable of managing any of this at the moment (hopefully again in future though. It's super FUN!), so that's why I'm moving to an online business model, for now.

If a private 1-1 reading has been purchased, please download the Discord app and create an email verified account, at least 1 hour before your appointment is due to commence. A single use invite to the DVT Appointments Discord Server will be emailed to you shortly before your appointment. Only click on this link after your Discord account is email verified and signed into the discord app on the same device as the link when you click on it. Please email hello@DarkVeilTarot.com if you experience any issues with accessing the appointment server.

Access to the DVT Client Discord Community is available after purchasing your service from DarkVeilTarot.com for three months after purchase. Please see our websites Discord Servers page for further information on the Dark Veil Tarot Discord Servers and accessing the DVT Discord Community spaces. A cancellation of the booking will result in client community access being withdrawn. Access to the free DVT community will remain available.

Please note: All clients must be age verified via video call before receiving a 1-1 reading / session or when accessing the Discord Community spaces for the first time. Failure to provide a legally valid form of photographic ID when requested will result in cancellation of the appointment without refund and/or refusal of community entry.
